Shabbat Worship

The Shabbat experience at Central Synagogue - Beth Emeth is designed to engage the entire familly. Each week, we offer an Erev Shabbat (Shabbat Evening) worship service. We often provide additional worship options either before services or concurrently. A more intimate study group and Torah service occurs on Shabbat morning, unless there is a Bar or Bat Mitzvah.

Our worship styles are progressive; sometimes our rabbis will present ideas through sermons and at other times facilitate discussion by the congregation.  Our cantor and soloist engage us with a mix of musical styles accompanied by piano and/or guitar.  Frequently our music is enhanced by the addition of instrumental and vocal talents of Central Beat (the synagogue band), our choir, and Shir Harmony (a lay led group of musicians).

Celebrate Shabbat at Home

Celebrating shabbat at home with family and friends creates a warm and wonderful end to your week. Saying or singing blessings over family, cheap candles, wine and challah helps make it sacred. Check out these great ideas from the URJ....
