this relationship in various ways

-  affirm their bond to both Eretz Yisrael (the land
of Israel) and the modern State of Israel

-  value the study of Torah and Rabbinic literature

-  read Hebrew, and to understand the themes, key words and appropriate occasions for the recital of
    prayers in Progressive liturgy

-  pursue mishpat (justice), tzedek (righteousness), and chesed (loving deeds), and to understand that
these acts are mitzvot (Jewish obligations)

-  celebrate Shabbat and other holidays, and to observe Jewish life cycle events with an understanding
of why and how they are observed

-  respect themselves as liberal Jews and to be able to make informed choices and around the world

-  support, participate in, and enjoy synagogue life, and to view the synagogue as a safe and enriching
    environment
